Our Services

Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo)

One of the simplest ways of shipping your car overseas, whereby you can chose to deliver your Mercedes to the port or have it arranged to be picked up. Once at the port, the car is driven onto the RoRo vessel (rolled on) and strapped tightly to the specialised car decks to prevent any movement during transit. At arrival, your Mercedes is driven off (rolled off) and checked by customs before being made available for you to pick up at the destination port.

This method of shipping is a good option for a luxury car like the Mercedes-Benz because the vehicle is protected from elements like wind and water that it may otherwise be exposed to inside a container. One important thing to consider is that you cannot ship personal belongings with your car if you chose the RoRo method. Lastly, old/vintage cars that aren't in a good condition must be able to be rolled onto and off of the vessel. If the steering doesn't work, or the vehicle is in any way unsafe to drive, then Container shipping may be the best option.

Container Shipping

This involves securing your Mercedes inside a 20ft or 40ft container that is then secured onto a vessel to be shipped to the destination. Due to the fact that there is less handling of your vehicle involved in the Container Shipping process compared to Roll-on Roll-off, naturally, there is less of a risk for accidents to occur throughout the process, making container shipping slightly safer overall when compared to Roll-on Roll-off.

An advantage for Container Shipping is that multiple cars can be secured into a single large container, which reduces the costs for you and makes it a more efficient method of shipping. We also use a new R-Rak system for certain destinations such as Australia and New Zealand, whereby 2 cars can fit into a single 20ft container or 4 cars into a 40ft container. Another advantage of Container Shipping is that you have the choice to ship personal belongings with the car inside the container.

Air Freight

This method of shipping is by far the fastest and one of the safest methods of shipping your vehicle. If you own a particularly expensive car then this may be the best option for you, however as you'd expect, transport via air freight is the most expensive method, with minimum transit times in as little as one week.

Before You Go

A few important things to consider before shipping your Mercedes overseas

Documentation

Ensure that you have all of the necessary documentation required by carriers and regulatory agencies to avoid delays, extra costs and to make the process as smooth as possible. Do your research beforehand, as some destinations may require different documentation.

Taxes

Taxes, tariffs, and duties vary from country to country, so again, do your research and make sure you know before you go to avoid unexpected costs.

Preparation

There are some steps that you need to take to ensure that your Mercedes is fit for transport. Failing to make these preparations could mean delays in the shipping process.

  • Thoroughly clean both the interior and exterior of your vehicle for inspection.
  • Ensure the vehicle is safe and in working condition (unless specified otherwise)
  • Disable car security systems, remove GPS, stereo or any other portable equipment, remove antenna and fold mirrors back.
  • Apply anti-freeze and possibly even rust protection where necessary as your vehicle may be prone to harsh conditions during transport.
  • If you are shipping by container, make a list of any personal items you are shipping with the vehicle. For RoRo shipments, ensure that there are no personal belongings in the vehicle.
  • Have an extra set of keys with you for collection of the vehicle.

Vehicle History

Without an export certificate, customs may check any outstanding finance owed. If finance is owed then you may need written approval from the loan company to ship your vehicle.
